Creating Your First Assessment

A complete walkthrough for your first vendor security assessment

Before You Start

Make sure you have the following information ready:

  • Vendor company name
  • Contact email for the vendor (someone who can answer security questions)
  • Desired completion date

Step-by-Step Guide

Open the Assessment Creator

From your dashboard, click "Assessments" in the left sidebar, then click the "New Assessment" button.

Tip: You can also start from the Vendors page by clicking "Send Assessment" on any vendor.

Select or Create a Vendor

Choose an existing vendor from the dropdown, or click "Add New Vendor" to create one on the fly.

You'll need to provide at minimum the vendor's company name and contact email.

Choose a Template

Select which questionnaire template to use. For your first assessment, we recommend:

  • Quick Due Diligence - 30 questions, fast to complete
  • ISO 27001 - Comprehensive security assessment
  • SOC 2 Readiness - For SaaS vendors

Set the Due Date

Choose when the vendor should complete the assessment. Consider:

  • • Allow at least 1-2 weeks for most assessments
  • • Larger companies may need more time to coordinate responses
  • • You can extend the deadline later if needed

Add a Personal Message (Optional)

Include a message to the vendor explaining why you're conducting this assessment and any context that might help them respond. This appears in the email they receive.

Review and Send

Review all the details, then click "Send Assessment". The vendor will receive an email immediately with a secure link to complete the questionnaire.

🎉 Congratulations! You've sent your first assessment!

What Happens Next?

  2. 2You'll be notified when they start and when they complete it
  3. 3Ezy Risk automatically calculates the risk score when they submit
  4. 4Review the results and generate reports as needed
