Sending Assessments to Vendors
How to create and send security questionnaires to your vendors
Overview
Sending an assessment creates a unique, secure link that allows your vendor to complete the security questionnaire without creating an account. Ezy Risk handles the email notification and tracks completion status automatically.
Step-by-Step Guide
Navigate to Assessments
From your dashboard, click on Assessments in the sidebar, then click the "New Assessment" button.
Select the Vendor
Choose an existing vendor from your list, or add a new vendor by entering their company name and contact email.
Choose a Template
Select the assessment template to use. This determines what questions the vendor will answer. See Assessment Templates for details.
Set Due Date
Choose when the assessment should be completed. Vendors will receive automatic reminders as the due date approaches.
Add a Message (Optional)
Include a personalized message that will appear in the email to the vendor. This is helpful for providing context about why the assessment is needed.
Send the Assessment
Click "Send Assessment". The vendor will receive an email with a secure link to complete the questionnaire.
Delivery Options
Email (Default)
Ezy Risk automatically sends a professional email to the vendor contact with the assessment link, due date, and your custom message.
Copy the unique assessment link to share manually via your own email, Slack, or any other communication channel.
What Vendors Receive
When you send an assessment, the vendor receives an email containing:
- Your organization name and logo
- Assessment name and template type
- Due date for completion
- Your custom message (if provided)
- Secure "Complete Assessment" button
Tips for Better Response Rates
- Give adequate time
Allow at least 2 weeks for complex assessments - vendors may need to gather information from multiple teams.
- Add context in your message
Explain why you're conducting the assessment and how it fits into your relationship.
- Verify the contact email
Make sure you're sending to someone who can answer security questions or coordinate internally.
- Use Quick Due Diligence for initial screening
For new vendors, start with a shorter assessment. You can always do a deeper dive later.
